She deftly navigates the plethora of accents, adding to the sense of place in this international police procedural. The story begins with an unexpected storm hitting the Montreal area as Tempe and her beau, Ryan, are on the water, watching a fireworks display. As a result of the storm, Tempe is pulled into a possible lightning-strike case. She is introduced to Detective Musgrove from Turks and Caicos, who comes to identify the body.
