For centuries, Carpathian vampire Andor Katona has worked to keep the world safe from vampires who prey on humans but has had no luck finding his lifemate, leaving him literally doomed to a colorless world. Having been wounded in a fight with vampires and then attacked by inept human vampire hunters in the Carpathian woods, he is seriously considering letting himself die. Then, suddenly, the world erupts in blazing hues as an avenging angel crashes onto the scene, saucepot in hand, beating back his would-be killers. Despite his stupor, Andor knows he's just met his mate. In the woods to heal and find peace after the violent deaths of her family, telepathic martial arts expert Lorraine Peters has no idea of Andor's true identity.
