Anyone who has had a houseguest overstay their welcome or wondered how to ask their host to accommodate a dietary restriction without giving offense or being a burden will welcome Bertone's book. Not a traditional etiquette manual--no talk of finger bowls or which fork to use here!--this is a straightforward guide to cultivating and maintaining relationships with friends and family in your home or theirs. Bertone explains how to ask the right questions before your guests arrive, manage your own and their expectations, and choose the right host(ess) gift, regardless of the length of your stay. A chapter on hosting and visiting with pets will be especially useful for many people.
