Since her fiance refuses to let Amelia fulfill a promise to a dying friend that she would care for her baby, Ameilia rebels and proposes to the baby's father, a sea captain she's never met. Their love is tested when tragedy strikes. VERDICT Ladd's charming Regency debut is enhanced with rich detail and well-defined characters. It should be enjoyed by fans of Gilbert Morris.
