The fourth Black Knights Inc. romantic thriller (after Rev It Up) packs a considerable emotional punch. Richard “Rock” Babineaux, former Navy SEAL and current BKI black-ops specialist, has volunteered for the wrong mission, and now the CIA and several other organizations have standing orders to take him out permanently. Even his teammates at BKI aren’t sure they can trust him—with the exception of sassy communications specialist Vanessa Cordero, who knows that the sweet guy who patiently taught her to ride a motorcycle couldn’t possibly be on the wrong side of the law. Rock does everything he can to push Vanessa away, believing he’s doomed. But is he? After a hair-raising firefight, BKI operatives spirit Rock away while searching for the truth, which comes in a surprising and suspenseful series of twists. When the Black Knights are told that one of their own, exNavy SEAL Richard Rock Babineaux, has gone rogue and the government's entire intelligence apparatus is out to get him, they take matters into their own hands. Vanessa Cordero, their communications specialist, uses her language skills to track him down in Central America but also unwittingly leads the CIA to him. After a wild chase through the jungle, where it's a toss-up whether a bullet or their own passion for each other will get them first, the Knights capture Rock and help him escape while they figure out who set him up. In the process of doing this, Rock and Vanessa give in to their this-may-be-the-only-chance sexual tension, and it becomes obvious that Bill and Eve, two supporting characters, are not far behind them, and may be the subject of the next installment in Walker's series. A great, fast-paced, and sexy read that lives up to its double-entendre title and to readers' expectations for Walker's books.
