As a result of a bit too much scandal, the Prince Regent has demanded that James Fitzroy, the world-weary, marriage-averse Duke of Candover, give up his wild ways and finally tie the knot. With two disastrous engagements in his wake, though, James is not about to comply. Isabelle Tremont, the young Duchess of March, has been ordered to wed, as well, and her friend James--and her secret love since childhood--is the perfect choice. However, whatever her hopes, owing to the differences in their age and experience, Isabelle fears he won't agree. When her bold proposal nets a refusal, she is prepared and pulls out her list of other "eligible parties" under consideration--and sets the stage for a most interesting Little Season. VERDICT Once again, Nash's impeccable Regency roots shine as she pens another exquisitely detailed, deliciously sensual, and sometimes outrageous escapade that sees all lovers properly aligned, beautifully wrapping up this engaging series.
