Shape-shifters and others with special abilities star in Tyler's Alpha Pack series, which kicks off with this predictable romance. Kira Locke is determined to uncover what's really going on at the Las Vegas lab where she works, even if it means stealing samples. Kira's theft is discovered, and the lab guards are about to kill her when wolf shifter and Alpha Pack member Jaxon Law saves her. He takes Kira to Alpha Pack headquarters and soon they fall in love. When it becomes apparent that the lab is doing something sinister involving shifters, the Pack investigates, with deadly consequences. Jaxon and Kira's predictable "Bondmate" connection, the standard team of sexy heroes, and many unanswered questions regarding the villains and their conspiracy may frustrate readers looking for something more solid and novel.
