While the story's events are too unlikely to calm any real fears, they may tickle the funny bones of preschoolers who enjoy slapstick humor. Froggy forgets his underwear ("oops!"), falls off a bench in the waiting room ("bonk"), and is not exactly the ideal patient. John McDonough good-naturedly vocalizes all these mishaps; he's the only reader I know who can sound stately even when he's being silly. His sunny reading of this light tale will have the little ones laughing all the way to their first physical, and it will help older listeners endure the somewhat thin material. J.C.G.
