Arend’s third Six Pack erotic romance (after Rocky Mountain Haven) finds Matt Coleman trying to shake off the disappointment of his longtime love, Helen, leaving Rocky Mountain House for brighter prospects in Calgary. Enter Helen’s younger sister, Hope, a sometime dancer and local business owner. Matt and Hope can’t deny their mutual attraction, despite their earlier siblinglike relationship and vow to just be friends. As they become lovers and start to think about taking it further, Helen jealously attempts to sabotage their romance. Arend’s skillfully written erotic passion never veers off into the improbably athletic, though readers unfamiliar with her writing may be surprised by the ménage scene, and Hope and Matt are nicely realistic as they deal with the interventions of their various siblings.
