Librarian and aspiring mystery author Sister Agatha, a Welsh Anglican nun of Gwenafwy Abbey in bucolic Pryderi, Wales, once again turns sleuth in Willan’s charming sequel to The Shadow of Death. On the eve of the Pryderi Women’s Art Society annual Christmas art show, Tiffany Reese, a daunting force in St. Anselm parish, is found dead in the parish hall, lying next to a broken tea cup. Her painting, which had been hanging on the wall, is missing. The coroner believes that Tiffany died of natural causes, but Sister Agatha is unconvinced. When strange and dangerous things begin to happen around the convent, Sister Agatha and her partner in detection, Father Selwyn, suspect that Lucy Penoyer, a young American artist, is the common thread that links them all.
