"This edition of 'The Big Sleep' is limited to 425 copies. The book was designed and printed under the direction of Andrw Hoyem at the Arion Press. Members of the Press include Mary Bisbee, Matthew Kelsey, Gerald Reddan, Glenn Todd and Lawrence Van Velzer. The types are Scotch Roman and Futura Black for display. The Monotype was composed by Mackenzie-Harris. The photo-lithography was printed by Phelps-Schaefer in blue/black duotone over double opaque white, finished with a double varnish. The paper is Mohawk Superfine. Binding was done by Schuberth Bookbindery. This is the nineteenth publication of the Arion Press and the third in its series of classic detective fiction. Completed in the spring of 1986"--Colophon.
