"Novelle cinque, here translated into English for the first time from the manuscript in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University, has been printed in an edition of 1950 copies. Martino Mardersteig designed the book in Centaur typeface and has overseen the letterpress printing in the Stamperia Valdonega, Verona, Italy. The four watercolours in the manuscript are reproduced in their exact size. The paper is manufactured specially for this edition by Cartiere Magnani, Pescia. The book was bound by Legatoria Recalcati in Milan, November MCMLXXIV. This copy is number 738."--Colophon.
