Shine Like the Dawn: A Novel
(Adobe EPUB eBook, Kindle Book, OverDrive Read)
When wealthy inventor and industrialist William Harcourt dies, his son and Maggie’s estranged childhood friend, Nathaniel, returns from his time in the Royal Navy and inherits his father’s vast estate, Morningside Manor. He also assumes partial control of his father’s engineering company and the duty of repaying an old debt to the Lounsbury family. But years of separation between Nate and Maggie have taken a toll, and Maggie struggles to trust her old friend.
Can Maggie let go of the resentment that keeps her from forgiving Nate—and reconciling with God? Will the search for the truth about her parents’ death draw the two friends closer or leave them both with broken hearts?

Starred review from March 15, 2017
In Edwardian England, childhood friends Maggie Lounsbury and Nate Harcourt are abruptly separated after Maggie's parents drown in a boating accident. Maggie and her sister are sent away to live with a distant relative, and Nate joins the Royal Navy. When his father dies, Nate returns to run his family estate and discovers Maggie working at her grandmother's hat shop. The two friends have much hurt and anger to resolve before their friendship, let alone love, can flourish. VERDICT Turansky's (A Refuge at Highland Hall; "Edwardian Brides" series) beautifully written romance will sweep readers into an enchanting world, where life isn't ideal, but where faith shines a path through the darkness. Its heartwarming and hopeful story arc, gentle prose, and charming characters will attract new readers to Turansky's growing legion of fans.
