But the friends find that a bundle of bills is missing. That's a hundred thousand dollars - gone! How did the thief slip the money out past cameras, guards, and locked doors? KC has a suspect. She has a clue. Now she just needs to figure out how in the world it was done!

After KC takes a tour of the Treasury, her stepfather, the president of the United States, tells her that $200,000 has been stolen. She enlists the aid of the president's clone (from an earlier book in the series) and catches the crook. The story, accompanied by stiff illustrations, moves quickly, but the stilted dialogue and far-fetched plot won't hold readers' attentions.(Copyright 2007 by The Horn Book, Incorporated, Boston.
