Baxter (One Touch More, 20015) continues her U.S. Marshals series. After being turned down twice for the U.S. Marshals Service because of his crooked family, Mason Decker quits U.S. Customs and Border Control Protection, only to be lured onto a task force assembled to discover and take down a mysterious group called Faction Five because of those very family connections. Mason clashes with Charlotte Cahill, the prosecutor in charge of the task force, but is assigned to partner with her as they both go undercover, posing as jewelry smugglers and a broker along with Mason's brother, Kiernan. As they grow close and put their lives on the line, Mason and Charlotte fall hard for each other, only to find themselves caught up in an even more dire situation than they thought. The heat rising between these two high-powered personalities makes for some great sex scenes, while Baxter's multiple plot twists will keep readers glued to the story, which is a nail-biting, one-sitting read.
