After several heartbreaks and set-backs, 33-year-old Lolly Blanchard discovers a list of life goals written by her teenage self and begins wondering about the what-ifs from her past, especially her former love, Rory. When her great-aunt gifts her three magical lemon drops that are said to let her live a day in her life if she had chosen her what-ifs, Lolly gets to see what her life would've looked like if she had made different choices. Going back doesn't always reveal a better life for Lolly, and she begins to realize the importance of living in the moment instead of chasing the past. With several jumps between potential lives, this story feels a bit like a mix of What Alice Forgot and A Christmas Story, with similar sweet and heartwarming life-lessons that are seeming to become hallmarks of Linden novels.
