When her childhood friend, Neal Chattan, Lord Lyon, attempts to hire her, she initially refuses, still bitter from his abrupt abandonment of their friendship and skeptical of his claim that he is cursed. Handsome Neal wants a bride he cannot love, for any Chattan male who falls in love dies soon afterward; he ditched Thea because he feared his feelings for her. Thea finally promises to help him find a wife, but doesn’t anticipate that she and Lyon will resurrect their friendship as romance. Confused by the curse and her emotions, Thea must decide whether love can conquer all. Maxwell (A Seduction at Christmas) spins a pleasant, unchallenging tale perfect for new romance readers.
