Description
Daisy's Tea Garden is one of the many attractions in Pennsylvania's Amish country—and when Daisy herself isn't serving tea, she's making sure justice is served . . .
When Daisy Swanson arrives at Rumple's Statuary shopping for a birthday present for her beau Jonas, Wilhelm Rumple's cottage looks like something out of a fairy tale, reminding her of the Storybook Tea family event she's planning. Even the man himself—short and stumpy in overalls with bare feet—seems like a storybook character. But as a businessman, Rumple is rumored to be as cold and hard as the statues he sells.

Maybe that's why, following a break-in at his cottage, Rumple is found dead in a dog run behind Four Paws Animal Shelter, bashed in the head. Now it's up to Daisy to get the residents of Willow Creek to spill the tea on a little man who may have had some big secrets, so she can find a stone-cold killer . . .

Includes delicious recipes!

A trip to buy a birthday present embroils a Pennsylvania tea shop owner in yet another puzzling mystery. Daisy Swanson wants nothing more than to support her family financially and emotionally, serve great food, and continue to develop her romantic relationship. So far, so good: Her shop in Willow Creek--part of Pennsylvania's Amish Country--is doing fine, her daughter and son-in-law's unplanned pregnancy has worked out well, her other daughter will soon be off to college, and her romance with former cop-turned-woodworker Jonas Groft is progressing nicely. When she visits the shop of oddly reclusive dog lover Wilhelm Rumple in search of a concrete dog statue for Jonas' birthday, she overhears an argument between Rumple and wealthy Stanley King over money. Jonas and Rumple both volunteer at Four Paws Animal Shelter, which is run by a brother-sister team, and when Rumple is murdered in a dog run there, Daisy, who's no stranger to investigations, feels compelled to see what she can discover. Although she turns everything she learns over to the police, who are struggling to pin down a motive, she still becomes a target for a killer who fears she knows too much. The deepest joys in this cozy are the relationships between people you actually care about.

        May 31, 2022
At Daisy's Tea Room, in Willow Creek, in the heart of Lancaster County Amish country, the tea of the month for September is Darjeeling. Daisy Swanson, who runs the tea room with her aunt, though busy with upcoming plans for a Storybook Tea and the catering for a large wedding, takes time out to work on a surprise birthday party for her boyfriend, Jason. She and her son-in-law go to Rumple's Statuary to purchase a stone dog for Jason. Wilhelm Rumple, the proprietor, is distinctly odd, and Daisy is glad she has her son-in-law with her. When Rumple, who is also a volunteer at the local animal shelter, is found in a dog run with his head bashed in, the town is stunned. Mostly people continue with their activities, but Daisy senses a shift. No one really knew Rumple, yet his murder affected many who want to talk over an ever present cup of Darjeeling, even though they say he liked dogs more than people. Recommend this one to fans of Laura Childs' tea shop series and Amanda Flowers' novels also set in Ohio's Amish country.
