Sensory Experiences Through Play in the Classroom
(eBook)
Sensory rich play is the foundation for skill development and academic function. A functional, regulated sensory system creates a strong base for academic performance and function. These activities provide a variety of opportunities for your students to enjoy sensory play in your classroom. The books in this collection are designed to meet the needs of educators of both regular education and special education students. Although many of the activities are developed around early childhood and elementary years, nearly all tasks can be adapted to meet the needs of older students. Dr. Kelley's professional history began as a teacher, and she has always prided herself in trying to create materials for teachers that are easy-to-use and implement. "The Teacher Resource" Series is created for the teacher that may need additional support when an OT is not available. However, teachers can use the activities feeling empowered that they are meeting the individual needs for their students' motor, language and sensory development.
