Perodia is threatened by Thorn, a powerful vulture, who is using magic to spread a terrible darkness--but when a young owl named Tag, and his best friend, the squirrel Skyla, rescue a golden egg from Thorn's Tiger bats they may have found the key to Perodia's salvation: the last firehawk, guardian of the ember stone.

Tag the owl, Skyla the squirrel, and Blaze the young firehawk continue their hazardous journey to find and reunite the pieces of the Ember Stone, the only power which can defeat the evil vulture Thorn, and save Perodia.

Tag the owl, Skyla the squirrel, and Blaze the firehawk are searching for the final piece of the magical Ember Stone that will hopefully save Perodia from the evil vulture Thorn, and their quest has led them to the Howling Caves in Valor Wood--but they do not know if the stone will actually be there, or what will be waiting for them when they emerge into the spreading darkness.

Now that Thorn has been defeated, Tag and his friend Skyla embark on a new quest, to find Blaze's lost family and the other firehawks who disappeared through a portal to the Cloud Kingdom; but the Cloud Kingdom is full of new dangers, and when giant birds seize Blaze and carry her off Tag and Skyla are left to try and free their friend--with only a magic map to guide them, and the threat of the shadowy shape that seems to be following them.
