A college professor begins to suspect that a student's accidental death was tied to his refusal to take part in a traditional "hazing" and was no accident.

Our story centers around Tony Wall, an ex-gangster who was active during Chicago's prohibition period but has decided he is tired of living on the wrong side of the law. So, after paying his debt to the North American justice system and now desiring peace and tranquility, he moves back to the old country, followed by his ex-criminal companions Romo, Rito, Chuck and Maggie.

A simple country girl named Lazara is caught up in the Mexican Revolution when her new husband, Juan, is forced to join the federal army on the eve of their honeymoon. Refusing to be separated from Juan, she chooses to follow him, traveling with the troops. Adoration and money only bring partial contentment for her.
