I lived in Port San Luis, in the Port San Luis boatyard where I was building my boat, The Ruby Tuesday, when 911 happened. I, like other Californians sat mesmerized in front of the TV watching the terror of the event and admiring the heroics of the New Yorkers. After around 3 or 4 days of this I remembered that I was a poet, and if nothing more, I could write. The poems fell upon the page in around two weeks. So here is my salut to New York.......
